The Institute of Statistics was established at the National Tsing-Hua University in 1988 though programs in Statistics have existed within the former Institute of Applied Mathematics for many years. Our alumni earned national and international reputation in both applied and theoretical statistics.
Our institute offers a wide selection of M.S. program including Industrial Statistics, Financial and Economic Statistics, and Biostatistics and Environmental Statistics. The objectives of these sessions are the contributions to scientific inquiry by applying mathematical and statistical knowledge to the design of surveys and experiments; the collection, processing, and analysis of data; and the interpretation of the results. Students employ their knowledge of statistical methods to a variety of subject areas, such as biology, economics, medicine, public health, marketing, and industry.
