    Abstract: A queueing theory was employed to model Chinese information processing on an automated control system. The information rate and the number of information categories were manipulated as variables in the model because these factors would affect the performance of the operator in processing information. By simulation method, the limit of human mental workload was quantified using ρ value. This model provides the system designer a reasonable mental workload level and can be used to evaluate the safety and efficiency of the system
