Abstract: This paper deals with the technical impact of disposal under intruder scenarios of the low level radwaste disposal site in Taiwan. The safety assessment model for the radwaste repository of the US NRC has been modified according to the local environmental conditions. The intruder scenarios include both construction and agriculture scenarios. It is found that the effective techniques to reduce the public exposure are through concrete trench design, thick trench covering, and canister layering emplacement. There are no significant effects in decreasing the public exposure by using other techniques such as canister segregation, trench grouting, waste volume reduction and solidification
