    Abstract: Due to the notch effect, the room temperature ductile-brittle transition was found at a lower hydrogen content between 30 and 40 ppm. A room temperature ductile-brittle transition of reduction of area was observed between 101 kPa and 1010 kPa of hydrogen pressure. The ductile-brittle transition is attributed to the precipitation and cracking of hydride platelets. For both hydrided specimens and specimens tested in hydrogen gas, the disappearance of the ductile-brittle transition at 100°C and above can be attributed to the increase of ductility of the zirconium matrix material
